We recently had the honor of attending the wonderful wedding of Maria Quinn and Captain John Mooney IV. in the beautiful Irish village of Adare. This is the second wedding we have attended in Adare, rated by many as one of the worlds best wedding locales.
Both times we have worked weddings in Adare, the bridal entourage has had the privilege of staying at the incredible Adare Manor. What a spectacular wedding this was! The bride was stunning. The groom, a Marine Captain, looked great. The parents of both the bride and groom were delightful hosts. Of course the setting was simply beautiful too! I even dusted off my very rusty golf skills to join the group in a round of golf on the magnificent Adare Manor Golf Links.
Every wedding has great stories…and this one certainly did too! The bride arrived at the church in a beautifully restored Rolls Royce Silver Cloud limo! So…while the ceremony went on…the driver took a stroll down to the nearest pub to “wait it out” and watch the Irish hurling match. Must have lost track of time…because he was nowhere to be found when the ceremony was over. We finally did a pub search to find him…and find him we did! Talk about a sheepish fellow.
The reception was amazing too. The dinner was held in an enormous dining wing of the manor. Over 100 guests were seated at one huge table…the largest dining table in Europe. The meal was superb and the ambiance was over the top.
Maria and John are now settled in Philadelphia…though John is working in Washington, DC. Thanks to the bride, groom and, of course, the Quinn and Mooney parents for inviting us to share this most special occasion. It was a great trip!
