Rev. Charles Robinson has been nominated for the Park City Sunrise Rotary Club “Service Above Self” award. This award recognizes members of the Park City/Summit County community who demonstrate dedication to community service and whose actions reflect the Rotary motto “Service Above Self”.
Rev. Charles came to Park City in June 2004. He serves as the Rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Rev. Charles initiated the “Park City Area Project for Deeper Understanding” in 2007 in response to increasing religious and political divisions in our community. The mission of the Project is to combat polarization and misinformation through community dialogue and education. This project won the Rotary Club District Peace prize for the best in Utah.
Charles has served on the boards of the People’s Health Clinic and Arts-Kids. He has also served on the Bio-Ethics Committee at Park City Hospital and on the Park City Interfaith Council.
Charles’ passions include teaching and writing about a free-thinking, progressive approach to Christianity and the Project for Deeper Understanding.
In regards to this “Service Above Self” award, Charles commented “Serving the community usually gives more to me than I give away. It’s a great way to meet wonderful people as well as do a bit of good. I highly recommend it to anyone considering involvement.”
The Park City Sunrise Rotary has created a traveling display of nominee portraits to exhibit around the community. If you would like to have the display in your place of business, please leave your name in the comments area of this post.
